I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2022, having studied at Queens’ College, and I’ve been at Beech House ever since. I also spent quite a bit of time here as a student before qualifying, so I’ve known the practice and the team for many years and have seen plenty of change along the way. I’ll always be grateful to Charles for giving me that first opportunity.

I’d always thought I wanted to be a vet, but I knew for certain about 12 years ago when I went out with Charles late one night to help with a successful heifer caesarean. I remember thinking there really wasn’t anything else I could imagine doing.

What I enjoy most about being a vet is getting to know my patients and their owners and building those relationships over time. I love being able to support them through the highs and the lows, and there’s certainly never much chance of getting bored. I have particular interests in anaesthesia, ultrasound and end of life care.

Outside work, I love reading, crochet, padel, films and good food. At home I have Cobalt, a very handsome silver tabby who I hand-reared after he was found abandoned on a building site near where I lived. He loves curling up with me on the sofa, although he’s also very quick to bite if I don’t stroke him fast enough. It took quite a few treats to persuade him to pose for a photo!
