At Taylor Vets, we are here to be by your side during this difficult time. Our goal is to make the experience as comfortable and peaceful as possible for you and your family.

We offer compassionate home visits and will do everything we can to honour your preferred timing, allowing you to share these final moments in the way that feels right for you.

Final Care Options
Every pet owner grieves in their own way, and our priority is ensuring you can say goodbye to your companion in the way that feels right for you. We offer several options, which are outlined below:
Burial at home – You have the option to bring your pet’s remains home for a private burial. Please be mindful of local regulations and the possibility of future relocation. We will prepare your pet’s remains for their final journey.
Private cremation – We know how difficult it is to lose a pet, and giving them a meaningful farewell is important. Our individual cremation option provides a dignified send-off, with each pet cremated separately to ensure you receive only their ashes. We also offer a selection of premium caskets and urns for storing your pet’s ashes.
Communal cremation – By choosing communal cremation, your pet will be cremated in a collective farewell alongside other companions. Pets are cremated together, and a symbolic portion of the communal ashes is laid to rest in the Gardens of Remembrance at the crematorium.
Helpful Resources for Pet Owners
It’s completely natural to experience a wide range of emotions after the loss of a pet. Everyone processes grief in their own way, and children, in particular, may have questions and require special care during this difficult time. Reach out to family and friends for support, and try not to be too hard on yourself. Remember, the decision to let your pet go was made with their best interests at heart.
For additional support, the Pet Bereavement Support Service offers a telephone helpline and email service, providing comfort to grieving pet owners through a national network of trained volunteer befrienders.

Vaccinations for Rabbits
Rabbits are sometimes overlooked when it comes to vaccinations, but they also need protection. Thanks to a new vaccine, protecting your rabbit is now easier and more cost-effective. This single injection offers 12 months of protection against Myxomatosis and Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (VHD), while also including an annual health check. Previously, three separate visits were required for full protection, but the new vaccine makes the process much simpler and more affordable.
Additional Vaccinations: Rabies
We also offer Rabies vaccinations for pets traveling abroad. A single rabies vaccine is required every 3 years for those who need to meet travel requirements. For more information on traveling with your pet, visit the DEFRA website.
