The Competition and Markets Authority is reviewing how the veterinary profession works, looking at pricing, ownership and transparency.

We think this is a positive step. Anything that helps pet owners understand who they are dealing with and what they are paying for can only be a good thing.

Taylor Vets is owned by vets who live locally, work in the practices every day, and understand the needs of local pet owners. There are no corporate targets or outside investors. Every decision we make is guided by what is best for your pet, not by a head office somewhere else.

We have always aimed to be open and clear about costs. Our routine treatment prices are on our website, and we are happy to provide detailed estimates or itemised invoices at any time. If you prefer a written prescription to buy medication elsewhere, that is absolutely fine. We will always help you find the best option for your pet and your budget.

This CMA review should bring greater transparency across the whole profession. Our focus stays the same: doing right by the animals in our care and the people who trust us with them.
