Regular vaccinations are essential to maintaining your pet’s health and protection against various diseases. Both dogs and cats are susceptible to a range of illnesses, and a consistent vaccination schedule is necessary to keep these vaccines effective. We offer comprehensive vaccinations for both species, ensuring their ongoing protection. Ideally, your pet should receive their first round of vaccinations between 6 and 8 weeks of age.

Dogs and puppies can be vaccinated against several dangerous diseases, including:
Some of these diseases, such as Parvovirus and Distemper, can be rapidly fatal and are easily transmitted between dogs, foxes, or even through contaminated water sources like ponds and ditches. Even healthy-looking dogs can carry these diseases without showing symptoms, making vaccination critical.
For puppies, the vaccination course usually consists of two injections given 2 to 4 weeks apart, starting between 6 to 8 weeks of age. The second injection is given at 10 to 12 weeks, and full protection is typically achieved 7 days after the second dose. Older dogs with an unknown vaccination history should restart the course with two injections, spaced 2 weeks apart. Annual boosters are essential to maintain immunity, with the first booster after the puppy vaccination course being particularly important.
Cats and kittens can be vaccinated against:
A kitten vaccination course typically starts at 9 weeks of age and involves two injections given 3 to 4 weeks apart. For older cats with an uncertain vaccination history, it’s advisable to restart the vaccination course to ensure they are fully protected.
Rabbits are sometimes overlooked when it comes to vaccinations, but they also need protection. Thanks to a new vaccine, protecting your rabbit is now easier and more cost-effective. This single injection offers 12 months of protection against Myxomatosis and Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (VHD), while also including an annual health check. Previously, three separate visits were required for full protection, but the new vaccine makes the process much simpler and more affordable.
We also offer Rabies vaccinations for pets traveling abroad. A single rabies vaccine is required every 3 years for those who need to meet travel requirements. For more information on traveling with your pet, visit the DEFRA website.
Vaccinations not only protect your pet but also contribute to the broader goal of preventing the spread of diseases. Keeping up with your pet’s vaccination schedule ensures they have the best chance of living a long and healthy life. For any questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact us today.
