We offer video consultations over Whatsapp for clients that cannot make it into the surgery.
Primary Care Service
For clients who are unable to bring their pets into the surgery, we are pleased to offer the option of video consultations via WhatsApp. This service is suitable for specific cases where a remote consultation is appropriate. Some examples include post-operative follow-ups, assessments for ongoing repeat medications, and routine check-ups for chronic conditions. Minor health concerns may also be addressed in this format, provided that a physical examination is not immediately required. Video consultations are especially useful for situations in which it may be difficult or impossible for clients to bring their pets to the practice.
Our goal is to ensure that every animal receives the appropriate level of care, and we are here to guide you in selecting the most suitable consultation format based on your pet’s individual needs.
Our WhatsApp video consultations provide a convenient solution for clients who may face challenges bringing their pets into the practice. This remote service ensures that pets still receive expert veterinary attention and care, even when an in-person visit may not be possible.
However, there are certain situations where a video consultation is not suitable. For instance, emergencies or life-threatening conditions will require in-person care for the safety of the animal. Cases that necessitate a hands-on physical examination—such as abdominal palpation or listening to heart sounds—cannot be managed effectively through a remote consultation. Additionally, animals experiencing severe behavioral or pain issues, which may be challenging to handle over video, will need an in-person visit. Similarly, appointments specifically for antibiotics or parasiticide treatments will generally require an in-person assessment unless they are a recent follow-up. Repeat prescription appointments involving controlled drugs are also not eligible for remote consultations.
Booking a video consultation is simple. Contact our practice by phone or email to discuss your pet’s condition, and our team will advise whether a remote consultation is suitable. If approved, we’ll arrange a convenient time for your video appointment on WhatsApp, where you’ll connect directly with our veterinary team.
