Taylor Vets at Towcester

We are very pleased to welcome Beech House Vets into the Taylor Vets family.

What exactly is changing?

The practice remains in the same location, with the same team and the same focus on providing personal, high-quality veterinary care. Your pet’s records, existing appointments and ongoing treatment will continue as normal.

What is not changing?

The practice remains in the same location, with the same team and the same focus on providing personal, high-quality veterinary care. Your pet’s records, existing appointments and ongoing treatment will continue as normal.

What benefits does the change bring to clients and pets?

Being part of the Taylor Vets family gives the Towcester team access to the knowledge, experience and facilities available across Brackley and Middleton Cheney, while keeping care local and personal. It also means the practices can work together when a pet would benefit from additional expertise or facilities.

Is the practice still independently owned?

Yes. Taylor Vets Towcester is independently owned by veterinary surgeons Polly, John, David and Katy. John also owns Taylor Vets Brackley and co-owns Taylor Vets Middleton Cheney with David and Katy. All of the owners at Taylor Vets strongly believe in remaining independent and in you being able to talk to them if you need to.

BRACKLEY

Meet the Towcester Team

Towcester is the latest vetinary practice to join the Taylor Vets family.

Polly Smith and John Taylor became the owners of Beech House in April as the current owners Charles and Helen Castle planned to retire. John and Polly wanted to support Charles and Helen in being able to hand the practice over to people who were local and cared first and foremost about the care of the animals they treat.

Polly already knew Beech House well, having worked here 15 years ago, while John has built Taylor Vets around the kind of independent, personal veterinary care they both believe in.

Together, they are supported by a fantastic team of vets, nurses, support and client care colleagues, all bringing compassion, expertise and a genuine passion for animal care.

We value every member of our team and work hard to provide a relaxed, supportive environment where people can enjoy fulfilling careers while delivering exceptional care for our patients and their owners.

Poultry & Chicken Care

Finding veterinary care for a chicken isn’t always as straightforward as finding a vet for your cat or dog. That’s why poultry keepers travel from across the surrounding area to bring their birds to our Towcester surgery.

We regularly see chickens and other poultry, from much-loved garden hens and small hobby flocks to birds kept by more experienced poultry owners. Our team understands that when a chicken is unwell, you want a vet who is comfortable treating birds and familiar with the health problems they can face.

We can help with a wide range of poultry concerns, including illness and injury, parasites, egg-laying problems, nutrition and general flock health. Chickens can also be very good at hiding the early signs of illness, so if you’ve noticed a change in behaviour, appetite, appearance or egg production, it’s worth getting them checked.

Whether you have one particularly treasured hen or a whole flock to look after, you’ll find friendly, practical veterinary care at Taylor Vets Towcester.

Pet insurance can often be complex, with varying claim conditions and coverage amounts. To ensure you fully understand your policy’s limitations before your appointment, it’s helpful to review your insurance documents in advance.

Depending on your policy, we may be able to claim treatment costs directly from your insurance provider. However, this process can take several days to arrange, so if you’d like to pursue a direct claim, please discuss this with our reception team ahead of your appointment. You’ll also need to contact your insurance company to authorise our finance team to discuss your policy on your behalf.

To help us process your claim smoothly, please provide your policy details to our reception team as soon as possible following your appointment. If a direct claim is required, you must give permission to your insurer for our finance team to discuss your policy. In some cases, your insurance provider may need to email us a claim link, so we recommend checking this in advance.

All insurance claims (direct and indirect) will be charged an administration fee of £28 for processing the insurance claim (unless you are on our members plan, which means there is no charge). The fee will be payable by you along with any amounts not covered by your insurer.

When attending your appointment, please bring a signed claim form and your policy details. Without these, your claim processing may be delayed.

Indirect Claims:
Full Payment Upfront or Upon collection: The total estimated cost of the surgery must be paid in full prior to the surgery or upon collection. You will be reimbursed by your insurance company once your claim has been processed.

Direct Claims:
Direct claims must be arranged before your appointment, and approval may take several days. If we agree to a direct claim but any costs are not covered by your insurance provider (e.g., excess fees), you will be responsible for paying those directly to us. Note that direct claims may not be possible if your insurance doesn’t cover the treatment, or if we anticipate that your provider won’t approve the claim after reviewing your pet’s clinical history. The final decision regarding direct claims rests with Taylor Vets.

A security deposit of £150 is required for all direcr claims authorised by Taylor Vets, and must be paid before we can begin processing your claim.

Pre-Authorisation:
Some insurance companies require pre-authorisation before diagnostics or treatment. This can only be arranged after an initial consultation, as the specialist must first assess your pet to estimate treatment costs. Pre-authorisations can take up to five working days to approve, so please check with your insurer before proceeding with any treatment to ensure coverage.

Please note that Taylor Vets cannot guarantee your insurer will cover all conditions or treatments, and you are liable for any balance not paid by your insurer.

Uninsured Patients:
For uninsured patients, the full balance due when you collect your pet or after your appointment.

We are committed to providing the best possible service and treatment experience for both you and your pet. We understand that when your pet is unwell and requires care from our team, you may face a range of emotional, financial, and logistical challenges. Our goal is to continuously improve our services to ensure your treatment journey is as smooth and stress-free as possible. We welcome your feedback, which you can share by completing one of our feedback forms or by contacting our customer care team at hello@taylor.vet.

If we have not met your expectations or if you would like to raise a concern, please reach out to our Practice Manager at hello@taylor.vet or call us at 01327 354477.
